How It All Began
Capitol Clothing Recyclers was founded in 2009 by a group of Florida-based fashion enthusiasts who were troubled by one startling fact: the fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world. Millions of pounds of clothing end up in landfills each year — much of it barely worn.
We started small — sorting donations from neighbors and local charity drives, cleaning and repairing each piece by hand, and reselling them at honest prices. What began as a weekend project in a Boca Raton office quickly grew into a full-scale operation with a dedicated storefront and a passionate team.
Today, Capitol Clothing Recyclers is Florida's premier destination for sustainable, pre-loved fashion. Every item in our store has been hand-selected, professionally cleaned, and quality-checked through our 12-point restoration process. We're proud to have kept over 5,000 garments out of landfills — and we're just getting started.
